Service Overview

CommitMind is an AI-powered Git commit generation platform operating on a credit-based system. The Service includes Free and Pro subscription tiers, as well as optional purchased credit packages.

CommitMind provides AI-generated commit message suggestions based on analysis of your Git diffs. Important: CommitMind does not automatically create Git commits or modify your repositories. All generated content must be reviewed and committed manually by you.

Account Responsibilities

• Credential Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including passwords and API keys.
• Account Activity: You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether authorized by you or not.
• Accurate Information: You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account.
• Legal Compliance: You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations while using the Service.
• Minimum Age: You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.

Credit System

3.1 Monthly System Credits

• Free users receive 10 monthly credits that reset at the beginning of each billing cycle.
• Pro users receive 200 monthly credits that reset at the beginning of each billing cycle.
• Unused monthly credits expire at the end of each billing cycle and do not roll over.
• Monthly credits are automatically replenished at the start of each new cycle.

3.2 Purchased Credits (Top-ups)

• Purchased credits never expire and remain in your account indefinitely.
• Purchased credits require an active Pro subscription to be used.
• If your Pro subscription expires, purchased credits become inactive but remain stored in your account.
• Upon reactivating Pro, all stored purchased credits become available again.

3.3 Credit Consumption Order

CommitMind automatically consumes credits in the following order:

1. Monthly credits (Free or Pro) are consumed first
2. Purchased credits are consumed after monthly credits are depleted

Daily Usage Limits

To ensure platform stability, fair resource allocation, and prevent abuse, we enforce daily operation limits:

Operations include:

• AI commit generation requests
• Prompt generation (non-AI) requests

Exceeding daily limits: If you exceed your daily operation limit, further usage will be temporarily blocked until the next reset period (UTC day). This is an automated protection mechanism, not a penalty.

Subscription & Billing

• Recurring Billing: Pro subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) unless canceled.
• Billing Periods: Subscription periods begin and end according to the billing timestamps in your account.
• Expiration: If a subscription expires or is canceled, Pro features become immediately unavailable.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Access continues until the end of the paid period.

5.1 Promotional Pricing

CommitMind may offer promotional pricing, early access pricing, limited-time discounts, or introductory rates. These are subject to the specific terms of each promotion and may expire after the promotional period.

5.2 Pricing Changes

We reserve the right to modify pricing, subscription fees, or credit packages at any time.

Refund Policy

• Money-Back Guarantee: Pro subscriptions may include a limited money-back guarantee if explicitly stated at the time of purchase.
• Refund Eligibility: Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of purchase.
• Credit Consumption: Refunds may only be granted if no credits have been consumed during the period.
• Purchased Credits: Purchased credits are non-refundable once consumed. Unconsumed purchased credits may be eligible for refund within 14 days of purchase.
• How to Request: Send refund requests to support@commitmind.com with your account email and purchase details.

Acceptable Use & Abuse Protection

You agree NOT to:

• Attempt to bypass, circumvent, or manipulate credit limits or daily usage limits
• Exploit API endpoints, use automated scripts, or create multiple accounts to abuse the platform
• Use the Service for unlawful, malicious, harmful, or fraudulent purposes
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Use the Service to generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or discriminatory
• Share accounts or allow unauthorized users to access your account

Enforcement: Violations of these rules may result in:

• Temporary suspension of account access
• Permanent account termination without refund
• Forfeiture of remaining credits
• Legal action if warranted

Bring Your Own API Key (BYOK)

Pro users may choose to use their own AI provider API key (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic). By enabling BYOK:

• Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for all usage charges, fees, and costs incurred from your AI provider.
• No Control: CommitMind does not control third-party provider pricing, billing, terms, or service levels.
• No Liability: CommitMind is not liable for provider-side costs, billing disputes, service interruptions, or data handling.
• Abuse: Abuse of BYOK functionality (excessive requests, violating provider terms) may result in account suspension.
• Key Security: Your API key is stored locally in the extension and transmitted only during generation requests.

AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

CommitMind uses artificial intelligence to generate commit message suggestions based on your Git diffs.

• No Guarantee: AI-generated output may not always be accurate, complete, appropriate, or error-free.
• User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for reviewing, validating, and editing generated commit messages before use.
• No Liability: CommitMind is not responsible for any issues, damages, or consequences arising from the use of AI-generated content.
• Context Limitations: AI models have context window limitations and may not capture all nuances of your code changes.
• Professional Judgment: Generated messages should be treated as suggestions, not authoritative instructions.

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability and reliability of the Service. However:

• The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure access to the Service.
• Scheduled maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, or emergency fixes may temporarily affect availability.
• Third-party provider outages (AI providers, cloud infrastructure, payment processors) may impact Service functionality.
• We are not liable for any downtime, data loss, or inconvenience caused by service interruptions.

We make commercially reasonable efforts to notify users of scheduled maintenance via email or in-app notifications.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• CommitMind shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
• This includes, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption.
• Our total liability arising from or related to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us during the 12 months preceding the claim.
• Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations of liability, so this may not apply to you in full.

Termination

• By You: You may cancel your subscription or delete your account at any time through account settings or by contacting support.
• By Us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable laws.
• Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your access to the Service ceases immediately.
• Post-Termination: Purchased credits are forfeited if termination is for violation of Terms. For voluntary cancellation, credits remain if you reactivate within the retention period.

Survival: Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to Limitation of Liability and Governing Law.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Türkiye.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in İstanbul, Türkiye. Both parties consent to the personal jurisdiction of these courts.

The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) does not apply to these Terms.

Changes to Terms

We may update or modify these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or Service features.

• Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they become effective.
• The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
• Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
• If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service and cancel your subscription before the effective date.
